Over the past few days I’ve been getting ready for yet another July with my dad. So yesturday him and his girlfriend drove out to Calgary to pick me up for a nice road trip out to Minnedosa, Manitoba for a good old McLeod family reunion. The road trip started out with a quick 3 hours to medicine hat in Alberta, followed by 10 hours driving from medicine hat to Minnedosa in Manitoba. At the end of my long car ride I get to see my cousins that I have not seen in many many years as well as aunts, uncles, grandparents and great grandparents that I have not seen in a couple years.
Throughout my evening I occasionally look out my window and see the big prairie sky as well as large grassy fields on either side of the road. It always seems to amaze me. It interestingly unique how as you pass through part of Alberta, Saskatchewan and then part of Manitoba how the environment can change from hills and trees everywhere to gentle slopes. Finally, after a couple naps, I start to see the bright yellow canola fields that I love looking at. I’m getting so excited to see my family again! Only a few more short hours!
