Today we began day 2 of our surfing lessons. My dad and I had already rented gear because we wanted to continue surfing during the afternoon. So once everyone was all set up and on the beach we went over the technique for surfing the green wave. A green wave is one that has not yet broken and has no white water. We also went over what can affect the surfing in the area. We then practiced our pop up and got in the water for a few warm up runs. Once we were warmed up we had the option of searching for that green wave or staying back to practice standing up. My dad went on to learn to catch the green wave while I stayed back because I had issues standing up so I spent the rest of the lesson practicing and towards the end I was able stand up more consistently. Once lessons had finished my dad and I continued surfing. During this time my surf board hit my nose giving me a very small nose bleed and making my dad decide to prank me by saying my nose was broken. Thankfully it was not and only hurts a little when I touch it. We also caught quite a few good waves one of which was huge and we were able to both catch it green ridding it in a bit! I almost wish I lived on the coast so I could continue practicing surfing because I love it so much… As painful as it may be.

Val Laonde says:
I think I would have not only broken my nose but a leg as well!! lol
Nancy says:
Good for you Jayne, I probably would have broken every bone in my body.
